How to play
Four steps, a stack of cards, and a God who goes before you.

Every card is a step of faith
Ready to share your faith and spark meaningful conversations? Draw a card and get moving! Every card is a challenge to live out your faith, grow in boldness, and make an eternal impact. As James 1:22 says, “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.”
Here’s how it works
Draw a card. Pick an Action, Conversation, or Wild card.
Do the challenge. Pray, then obey. Speak with grace and truth.
Earn points. Cards earn 1 to 3 points.
Play solo or with others. Keep score, or work as a team to share the gospel and make disciples.
Quick tips for engaging
Pray first. Ask God for open doors and boldness.
Give gentle answers. Listen first, ask questions, and reply with respect.
Be bold. Do not fear. The LORD goes before you and will be with you (Deuteronomy 31:8).
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” Romans 1:16 (ESV)

Keeping score
Most points wins, but the real goal is faithfulness. Only God gives the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6). So pray, draw a card, and engage.
Action and Conversation cards are worth 1, 2, or 3 points. All three Wild cards are worth 3.
A few ways to play
- Solo for a week:
Draw one card each morning. Pray over it, look for the open door, and write down what happened.
- With a partner:
Draw together, go together, and debrief over lunch. It’s easier to be bold with a friend beside you.
- Team challenge:
Split your group into teams and add up points for a month. Share stories every time you meet.
- Around the table:
Families or roommates draw one card at dinner and talk about how it went the next night.
Playing on your own
The deck says it plainly: play solo or with others. On your own, ENGAGE! works like a spiritual discipline, the same way a Bible reading plan does. A small step, taken again and again, builds a habit of praying for people and speaking up for Jesus.
Pick a daily or weekly rhythm
Morning: Draw a card. Read the challenge and the notes at the bottom.
Pray: Ask God for open doors and boldness, and ask Him who to talk to.
Do it: Watch for the moment and take the step. Speak with grace and truth.
Log it: Write down the card, the points, and what happened. A first name or initial is enough.
Reflect: Before bed, thank God for what He did, even if the conversation didn’t go the way you hoped.
Busy season? Draw one card on Sunday and give yourself the whole week to do it.
Keep your own score and set a goal
Score it the same way the deck does: each card is worth the 1, 2, or 3 points on its badge, and every Wild card is worth 3. One card a day for a week lands somewhere between 7 and 21 points. Set a goal that stretches you a little, like “one card every weekday” or “try my first Wild card this month.” The goal is to keep showing up, not to chase a number.
Try a 30-day or 12-week challenge
30 days: One card a day for 30 days. Check in with yourself at days 7, 14, and 21, and celebrate at day 30.
12 weeks: One card a week for 12 weeks. It’s a steadier pace that fits a full schedule and still builds a real habit.
Both trackers are free to print on the Score Cards & Printables page.
Find an accountability partner
Ask one friend who loves Jesus to check in with you once a week, in person, by phone, or by text. Share what card you drew, who you talked to, what was hard, and who you’re praying for. Then pray for each other. Students can ask a parent or youth leader. There’s a printable check-in sheet with questions to use.
Grace over guilt
Missed a day? That isn’t failure. Draw a card and start again. Your standing with God doesn’t rise or fall with your points. We share the gospel because we’ve been loved and because Jesus sent us (Matthew 28:19-20), not to earn anything. Salvation is a free gift of grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). The points are just there to cheer you on.
Questions people ask
Do I need to know all the answers before I start?
No. The notes on each card help with common questions, and it is fine to say, "I'm not sure, but I'll look into it and get back to you." Then follow up.
What if someone says no or isn't interested?
Thank them and be kind. You were faithful to take the step. Keep praying for them. The outcome belongs to God.
What are the small notes at the bottom of each card?
They are short apologetics notes, usually a response to the most common pushback for that card. Below them are ESV Scripture references and a resource if you want to study more.
Which Bible translation do the cards use?
Scripture references point to the English Standard Version (ESV).
Can I play by myself?
Yes. Play solo and keep your own score, or join with others and work as a team. Many people use ENGAGE! as a daily or weekly personal challenge. See "Playing on your own" above, and print a free score card from the Printables page.
What if I miss a day or a week?
Just pick up where you left off. The challenge is there to help you grow, not to make you feel behind. Draw a card today.
Is this about winning?
Points make it fun. Faithfulness is the goal. We plant and water, and God gives the growth.
